LONDON OLYMPICS 2012 OPENING CEREMONY by FRANKENSTEIN’S DANNY BOYLE
Today is the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics and we wanted to take a moment to congratulate all of the athletes from around the globe who are participating in this year’s games. We at the National understand the importance of a global audience, be it in sport or in theatre and are thrilled that our very own Danny Boyle, director of Frankenstein, will be conducting the opening ceremony this evening. The production of Frankenstein was, stated by Doyle, an influence in his Olympic creative creation so we are looking forward to what he has up his sleeve.
And for those who are visiting London for the games come by the National as all of our productions are scheduled to perform throughout the Olympic weeks as well as our Inside Out program, a unique festival of summer programming including a behind the scenes look at the internationally acclaimed War Horse.
Enjoy the games!
